biography

 

Born in Cairo, Egypt. Moved to Argentina in 1958.

Enrolled at the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, Universidad de Buenos Aires. 
Studied fine art at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón and attended private workshops.

Took lessons in drawing, composition, and color with professor María I. Manassero for four years. Studied sculpture with Professor Leo Vinci, and later with Professor Omar Estela.

Currently, enrolled on courses of history of art, aesthetics, and analysis of artwork directed by Doctor Marta Zátonyi and Professor Alicia Romero.

First works made in wood, polyester resin, and acrylic.

1997 to date. Developed projects for installations, objects, artist books.

1989 to date. Participated in group exhibitions and salons. Her first solo exhibition was held in 1993. In 1998 one of her works was accessioned into the heritage of the city of Buenos Aires. In 1999 she was semifinalist in the Parque de la Memoria contest.

During 2003 and 2004 she worked in an art therapy unit at Hospital Interdisciplinario Psicoasistencial José T. Borda.

2005. Participated in a group artwork analysis with ProfessorValeria González.

2006. Participated in a seminar of theory practices for visual artists with Professors Alicia Romero and Marcelo Jiménez.

2007. Lecturer of the course Prácticas Escultóricas Contemporáneas [Contemporary sculpture practices] held at the Centro Cultural Recoleta.

Currently working on several projects.
